Hi there!
My name is Valeria, and I’m a bilingual English-Italian speaker currently based in Palermo, Sicily.
My journey began in Beijing, China, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts (with a focus on conceptual art) from the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). During my studies and until 2020, I worked as an art educator and curriculum developer, specializing in process-based, Reggio-inspired education.
Since relocating to Italy in 2020, I’ve continued my work in art education through my blog, Art Sprouts, while also leveraging my extensive experience as a translator and interpreter, a role I’ve held since 2012. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with television networks, galleries, private companies, NGOs, art dealers, and cultural institutions.
In recent years, I’ve expanded into copywriting, writing for online publishers and various private companies specializing in multimedia art products. Whether developing educational curricula, translating texts, or crafting compelling copy, I am passionate about using language to make art more accessible and meaningful.
